We offer career planning guidance, tips and advice for improving your job search, training and education opportunities, and the financial support to make it all possible. Workforce Solutions of Central Texas knows what tools you need to get a job, keep a job, or find a better job. In addition to our job search resources and job matching service, www.workintexas.com, we offer financial aid for training as well as assistance to help you look for work or go to work.

Career Center Services

You can get employment assistance at any of our four career service centers. Each location is staffed with career counselors who work with job-seekers to assess their skills, interests, and abilities and to advise them on jobs, in-demand occupational opportunities, and training options. Staff are available to assist job-seekers with building a resume, general career exploration, and job search. Services include:

Training and Education Resources

We partner with education and training providers to help you gain the skills and credentials needed for in-demand careers. Financial assistance may be available.

Adult Education and Literacy

Workforce Solutions of Central Texas partners with area education institutions to provide occupational training opportunities for eligible residents of Bell, Coryell, Hamilton, Milam, Mills, and Lampasas counties. Adult education classes are available at many locations, including schools and community centers, working around your schedule.

WS-CTX partners with Central Texas College and Temple College to provide services to residents of Bell, Coryell, Hamilton, Milam, Mills, and Lampasas counties. Adult basic education and working toward, earning your GED is available at many locations across the area.

Education and Training Grant Programs

Grant programs are available to help pay for training programs that lead to in-demand jobs. Not everyone will be eligible, and eligibility must be determined first. If you are eligible, and are willing to work with us, we may be able to help pay for your training program in one of many high-demand occupational areas including healthcare, information technology, skilled trades, and more.

Almost All Our Grants Are Awarded to Students with Financial Need

If you are a low-income student, you may be eligible for education and training grants. Eligibility is typically based on income level and family size. You must meet specific requirements to receive financial assistance to pay for a training program in many high-demand fields.

National Dislocated Worker's Grant

Temporary employment and training assistance may be available for workers who have been laid off due to major economic disruptions. Transitioning service members, including National Guard members, are also potentially eligible for training and employment assistance.

Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA)

A federal program that strengthens and improves our nation’s public workforce system to help adults and youth find in-demand jobs. WIOA provides funding for skills development, job training, and employment services for eligible individuals, including dislocated workers, adults, and youth.

Trade Adjustment Act (TAA)

Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) is a federally funded program providing support to workers who lost their jobs as a result of foreign trade. Benefits may include training funding, job search allowances, relocation allowances, and a wage supplement for older workers. Workers must be TAA-certified to receive these benefits.

We provide targeted services designed to meet the unique needs of specific populations, helping everyone in our community achieve workforce success.

Military and Veteran Resources

Dedicated support for active duty service members, transitioning military, veterans, and eligible spouses. Includes priority of service, TAP workshops, and connections to veteran-focused employers and training programs.

Students and Young Adults

Career exploration, vocational training, and paid work experience for youth ages 14–24. Programs include summer employment, internships, education support, and mentoring opportunities.

Individuals with Disabilities

Customized employment services, assistive technology resources, and partnerships with disability-focused organizations to help individuals achieve their career and employment goals.
