Workforce Solutions of Central Texas knows what tools you need to get a job, keep a job, or find a better job. Career Center Services
You can get employment assistance at any of our four career service centers. Each location is staffed with career counselors who work with job-seekers to assess their skills, interests, and abilities and to advise them on jobs, in-demand occupational opportunities, and training options. Staff are available to assist job-seekers with building a resume, general career exploration, and job search. Services include:

Training and Education Resources
Adult Education and Literacy
The Adult Education & Literacy (AEL) program provides learning opportunities for adults to advance to postsecondary education, training, or employment
WSCT partners with Central Texas College and Temple College to provide classes to residents of Bell, Coryell, Hamilton, Lampasas, Milam, San Saba, and Mills counties. Instructors assist adult learners with earning high school equivalency, learning English, and acquiring the skills to succeed in the workforce.
Education and Training Grant Programs
Grant programs focus on degree and certification programs in high-demand occupations of the region. To be considered for assistance, we must verify you are eligible and conduct testing to evaluate your ability to successfully complete the program of study. A criminal background check may be required for some programs, including medical and truck driving.
Almost All Our Grants Are Awarded to Students with Financial Need
If you are interested in our grants, or in any federal student aid, you have to start by submitting a Free Application for Federal Student Aid form. You have to fill out the FAFSA form every year you’re in school in order to stay eligible for federal student aid.
National Dislocated Worker's Grant
Under WIOA, which serves the Fort Hood Army base, was awarded additional funding from the Department of Labor to serve military community members, including civilian contractors, affected by reductions in force resulting from changes in national defense priorities. Transitioning service members, retirees, and those laid off from civilian jobs on Ft. Hood may be eligible.

Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA)
WIOA is federal legislation that is designed to strengthen and improve our nation’s public workforce system and help get Americans, including youth and those with significant barriers to employment, into high-quality jobs and careers, and help employers hire and retain skilled workers.
WIOA provides funding to eligible adults, dislocated workers, and youth.
Trade Adjustment Act (TAA)
Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) for workers is a federally funded program, with no costs to employers, that helps workers who are adversely affected by foreign imports or job shifts to a foreign country. Assistance is provided to eligible workers in the form of reemployment services, training, job search, relocation, and support benefits in the form of Trade Readjustment Allowances (TRA) and/or Alternative/Reemployment Trade Adjustment Assistance (ATAA/RTAA) for older workers.
Specialized Support
Military and Veteran Resources
Dedicated support for active duty service members, transitioning military, veterans, and eligible spouses. Includes priority of service, TAP workshops, and connections to veteran-focused employers and training programs.
Students and Young Adults
Career exploration, vocational training, and paid work experience for youth ages 14–24. Programs include summer employment, internships, education support, and mentoring opportunities.
Individuals with Disabilities
Customized employment services, assistive technology resources, and partnerships with disability-focused organizations to help individuals achieve their career and employment goals.

A comprehensive online job search resource and matching system developed and maintained by the Texas Workforce Commission. Individuals seeking a new job, different job, or an additional job can post their resume, search job listings, obtain employer contact information, get information about the job market, and receive a variety of other services.
Senior Employment Program
The Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) provides training and employment services to low-income job seekers ages 55 and older to help them secure unsubsidized employment in the public and private sectors.
